The bread was unreal good. Service was a little sassy though. We also got some weird vibes from customers. With better service it could have been a five.

It's that odd space between traditional and modern, and I wouldn't call it cozy. They have bar seating and table seating. They don't have couches or booths. It also looks old, and could stand to be updated. I was in the bar seating, and someone came in after me and couldn't stay put. They were constantly walking back and forth behind me, usually bumping into my backpack, which was well out of the way of space between the chair and the other table. But I'm not sure if that person work there or not, because they were constantly back and forth and sometimes loading things. They were at least enough of a regular to know a lot of the people there, and maybe it was the boss or friend of the boss. it wasn't that the person was there, it's that they kept moving around and bumping into my backpack when there was plenty of space. Very uncomfortable. The servers were very polite, though. And I would say they have decently sized food portions further small food menu. The place is also accessible, with no entryway step, and two ways to enter and exit. I'm not saying I'll never come back, but I'm certainly not in a hurry to with sisters' sludge and fireroast as other nearby options.

Great coffee, but try the sandwiches! Fresh, handmade and made-to-order. Great little lunch spot.

I have been here a number of times simply because of its proximity to lake Nokomis and when I’m on a walk and could use a caffeine fix. Each time, I’m hoping my bad coffee was just that particular barista or a fluke and next time it will get better. It never does and this time it was by far the worst, that I’ve decided I won’t be wasting my money here. I ordered an iced almond latte. I’ve had these before at multiple coffee shops and they’ve been good. This one was AWFUL. The barista added SO much syrup (seriously a half of cup) at the bottom of the glass, just put the espresso on top and topped with milk. No mixing or shaking so all that syrup just went right up into my straw. I tried mixing myself but that didn’t help since there was so much syrup. I had no choice but to throw this garbage coffee right where it belonged otherwise I would have gotten sick. Such a disappointment since the location is ideal. I think if the baristas could measure the syrup to make sure the ratio is correct, along with picking up a $5 shaker at home goods, it’d go a long way.
